BBC News | ”Man speeds animals’ decline”
Roger Harrabin’s sobering, depressing report: “Humans are conducting a devastating, although largely accidental assault on the world’s wildlife. We’re losing almost one per cent of wildlife populations every year. At the United Nations politicians have promised to slow down the rate of decline by the year 2010, but it’s clear they’re going to fail… ‘Frankly, the time for talking is long past and action is urgently needed.’
“For the Ganges river dolphin [BBC video still, above], time is running out… Its cousin in China’s Yangtze River is thought to have gone extinct this year.”
