Freakish Fallout of Flooding
In Pakistan, monsoon flooding forces spiders to swarm into trees. Their webs may have cut down on malarial mosquitoes, doubtless appreciated by the millions who lost their homes in 2010 when ten years worth of rain fell in a week, inundating a fifth of the country. 2011 monsoons are shaping up to be comparably catastrophic.
